Are goats an interest of yours? They sure are an interest of mine! It doesn’t matter if Boer, Dairy, Pygmy or Fainting goats are your thing, I have the event for you. For the past several years, Livingston County 4-H has sponsored a goat clinic for members to learn new information and refresh previously learned information. Again this year, personnel of the organization have worked hard to make this event even more successful.

I had the opportunity in past years to help younger exhibitors learn basic showmanship skills.

What:  Annual 4-H/FFA Goat Clinic

Where:  Livingston County 4-H/FFA Fairgrounds – either the south wing or north wing off of the M.W. Jenkins Expo Center (bathroom facilities will be available)

When:  Saturday June 2nd, 2012 from 8:00 to Noon-ish

Who:  Cody Sloan, originally from Cameron, Missouri, will be putting on a training clinic on how to brace show wethers.

Additional information:

Bring an animal to practice with for the bracing and for general showmanship as well as show-ring etiquette and techniques.

Laura Warren will be presenting something special for families/kids with dairy goats.

If you plan to attend or have more questions about this event, feel free to ask me, Cassie for more information.
